Bigelow Hollow: This photograph was taken in September 2011 at Bigelow Hollow State Park in Union Connecticut. Bigelow Hollow State Park is a Connecticut state park located in Union Connecticut. Bigelow Hollow is surrounded by Nipmuck State Forest and borders Mashapaug Lake. The park is approximately 600 acres and is surrounded by some 40,000 acres of forest which include Nipmuck State Forest, Yale Forest and the Natchaug State Forest. The area surrounding Bigelow Hollow State Park is one of largest forests in Southern New England and includes 35 miles of trails, including several trails that go around the 92-acre Breakneck Pond.
