Description
Nature's Way at James L. Goodwin State Forest: This photograph was taken at James L. Goodwin State Forest in Summer 2007. James L. Goodwin State Forest is a Connecticut forest located in the towns of Chaplin and Hampton. The lands became public property when James L. Goodwin donated his personal forest, that he had been developing to the state in 1964. The forest encompasses approximately 2,000 acres and includes Pine-Acres Lake, two smaller ponds, Black Spruce Pond and Brown Hill Pond. The forest has 14 miles of trails for hiking. Trails include sections of the blue-blazed Natchaug Trail and the Air Line State Park Trail.

Very nice. I can see the peacefulness and feel the serenity, as I stand on this road.

Beautiful woods. Reminds me of visiting my grandparents when I was a child. We were a big family. After dinner we would all take a walk down the country lane, which looked just like this. Wonderful memories triggered by this scene. Simple view, gorgeous color, the road gently leading on, all so wonderful. f/v

O Mary; You made my day. I have unfortunately not visited this location in a few years....my feet cant seem to take the long hikes like they used to. I will revisit for sure after my new inserts..lol. So happy to trigger happy feelings and memories; That is the compliment of all compliments :))
